Since the past few years, most business transactions in this world have been done online. The presence of thousands of online stores has risen dramatically. This reality has caused the shift of our economic landscape from the traditional physical stores to web stores at present. Because of this fact, all business owners nowadays must have websites for their respective businesses. And it has led to the importance of web hosting.

In this article, I will try to lay down 5 specific reasons why a business person should have a website hosting. Particularly the small-scale businesses in the world today, they have to create a website to tap the wider market by way of virtual approaches.

Why Is Web Hosting Needed?

Let me now bring you to the reasons why you must find a credible and tested web host. There are tons of available web hosts on the World Wide Web. Employ careful analysis before you’re going to pick one. What is vital now is you will know first the importance of having a website hosting.

1.    There are a high potential sales on the web.

This is the very first reason to consider. A business person should have a website because billions of people are using their computers, laptops, mobile phones, and any other electronic devices when searching for products or services. Consequently, the so-called “high profitability” in business can be found on the Internet presently.

Having an eCommerce website is a way to hit massive success. The huge potential audience is on the Internet. So, it is necessary that you must be in line with the present trends. People used to rely on mobile Internet and search engines transactions when buying goods to address their needs.

2.    A website hosting secures and protects your business.

Yes, it is true that each and every business owner today should possess a website for their business operation. This is where the content about the products or services is presented to the audience. But, this is the threat of malware, viruses, and other forms of cyber threats. Secure web hosting is the key to remedy the issues associated with it.

In a sense, choosing a web host is critical. You need to have a sound decision based on careful and prudent evaluations. Online security should be one of the tough bases when choosing your website host from the available choices in the world today.

3.    24/7 website support is a must, so your business needs it.

Even when you’re sleeping, your website is running. There are auto systems, like auto-responders, as an attached service of the web hosting provider of your choice. They work for you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Non-stop, to say the least.

However, you have to be ready because, despite the fact that 24/7 technical support is present, technical issues will still arise. And you have to address them accordingly. Just make sure that you can get a web host that truly provides higher uptimes than downtimes.

4.    Generating huge traffic can lead to an increase in conversions.

Your website visitors serve as the main key to success. Your web hosting is the ultimate way for you to have an increased number of visitors on your website daily, weekly, monthly, and annually. There can be relevant issues to happen. All you have to do is ask your web host on how they are going to address the downtime-related issues that may affect the number of visitors and conversions in your eCommerce website. A legit web hosting provider, like NetShop, can answer all your queries related to this idea.

5.    Web hosting can enhance the marketing aspect.

Marketing strategies should be employed. Without them, your eCommerce business won’t succeed. It is critical in this sense to choose a web host that will cater to the needs of your website operation. For some experts, you have the edge in marketing if you have a better web hosting. The opportunities would be greater. That’s why getting the best web host is your mission to accomplish. Lastly, website hosting can be your greatest way today in boosting your online presence. Your conversion rate is much better when your level of online presence is high.

A data center refers to a systematized and organized computing environment. It represents the physical space and power systems that are running the entire network infrastructure. It is badly needed today as the breakthrough of technological advancement remains steadfast in its pacing. It is used by IT operators in terms of storing, sharing, and managing data related to businesses or to any organizations.

Data centers play an important role for every business today. They serve as a hallmark in having a well-computed and brilliantly analyzed data that can be used for future enhancement and progress. A highly functioning data center should be reliable and secure. That’s why it is necessary to understand how to protect an information-based center from any possible intrusions and breaches.

The importance of a data center is highly valued these days. Understanding its essence should not be considered as an overstatement. In fact, valuing its operation in big cities and highly urbanized areas where big data are traversing from different networks and channels is a must. According to this post, data centers play an important role in our daily life due to the consideration of these interrelated things:

  • Energy
  • Lighting
  • Telecommunications
  • Internet
  • Transport
  • Urban Traffic
  • Banks
  • Security Systems
  • Public Health
  • Entertainment

Try to imagine your life without the Internet even for a single day. Try also to consider living your life without the existence of the banks and transport systems. For sure, your life is messy and miserable without these things. The world has changed. Technology and tools have changed the way you live your life on a day-to-day basis. Data centers, so to speak, control all of these interconnected things.

Revealing the Types and Categories of Data Centers

It’s now time to reveal the different types. Revealing them is important as far as digging deeply the essence of how they help our society and communities is concerned.

1.       Colocation Data Center

It is a center that provides space, cooling, and power system to clients. The clients are also known as hyperscale customers that are situated in a particular geographical location. In this type, there is what we call as “interconnection for businesses.” It provides Software as a Service, otherwise known as SaaS. Aside from it, it can also allow the use of a Platform as a Service also known as PaaS. Its services can help enterprises in two major aspects: Business Scaling and Venture Growth. Usually, it has low cost and minimum business complexity in terms of requirements.

Moreover, a colocation center can typically house from 100 up to 1000 customers, or a bit more. The service capacity would depend on the requirements of your own network. You can rent from 1 cabinet up to a maximum of 100 cabinets. But there are also instances that a colocation allows the use of partial cabinets like a ¼ or ½ cabinet.

2.      Wholesale Colocation Data Center

A wholesale colocation data center normally consists of a single proprietor of power and a cooling system and a particular space that is being leased to hyperscale and enterprise customers. With this type, it is not necessary to have an interconnection system. The large companies or hyperscale customers are using facilities that are important for an IT infrastructure. Like the standard colocation, it can permit the use of 100 cabinets up to more than 1000 cabinets.

3.       Enterprises Data Center

When we say an enterprise data center, it simply means that there is a company running the facilities that are constructed on a particular physical space. But an off-site facility can also be run by a company behind this type of an information center. An enterprise data center can have 10 cabinets and more. And it can use up to 40MW+.

4.      Telecom Data Center

If you hear about BT, AT&T, and Verizon, they are telecom data centers. They run their own facilities for telecommunications. There is a high volume requirement for connectivity systems and energy use in this type. Why? Because there’s a large requisite for the delivery of big data for the purpose of content sharing, mobile use, and cloud-based services. Normally, a data center of this type has 2 post racks up to 4 post racks for the IT infrastructure.

5.       Hyperscale Data Center

Last but not least, a hyperscale data center refers to a facility that is being run by the main company it is merely supporting. Some examples of this type are Apple, Microsoft, and Google. There are scalable and robust applications present in this type. The so-called “hyperscale computing” plays an important role in storing and managing big data through the clouds. It is using from 500 cabinets and more. The floor area required is a minimum of 10,000 square foot.

After announcing that as of January 2020 Sports Betting will be subject to Authorization in the German state of Hesse, the government was shocked by the number of applications received. None.

In an effort to re-regulate the German Sports Betting market, the Deutsche Automatenwirtschaft (DAW), umbrella association in charge of gaming machine manufacturers and suppliers, published a series of changes and key updates. One of the main concerns was the official licensing of the Sports Betting segment but that seems to pose many difficulties to Authorities.

Minister for the Interior, Peter Beuth revealed that the licencing process for Sports Betting in Hesse had not a single application, something that will inevitably affect the industry. He stated that “There will be no more toleration [of unlicensed offerings]. We will consistently prohibit illegal offerings. If you do not have permission then you are liable for prosecution, and the state will be forced to act.  “Advertising for sportsbook providers would then no longer be shown, whether on television or in stadia.”

Those who fail to comply to the new status-quo, will face immediate action.

Following the government imposed tax raise for iGaming operators to 28%, new changes are on the horizon for the iGaming industry in Denmark.

The Danish gambling regulator Spillemyndigheden has announced a series of updates and amendments to its online casino certification programme on December 10th.

From the 1st of January 2020, it will be mandatory for players to set a deposit limit before actually being able to play. This means that prior to gambling, players will have to choose and set a monthly, weekly or daily limit.

Companies who operate under the Danish Gambling Authority’s labelling scheme will also have to give their customer the opportunity to get a statement of account and provide information on responsible gambling, with references to ROFUS (the country’s self-exclusion database) and StopSpillet (StopGambling). Operators will be required to develop internal rules, process and staff training to be able to provide the information.

In addition, licensees will have to keep player gambling data on file for at least five years and clearly display the Spillemyndigheden logo on their site, to make clear that it has been certified by the regulator.

Data Center: More Than Just A Data Safehouse

Data centers are purposefully designed to hold large numbers of computers, as well as other associated components. Contact NetShop ISP for additional details.

The Internet has become mainstream at present. People use it for many purposes in relation to education, entertainment, media, information, etc. This fact has led to an increase in the demand to store and manage digitised data. This has further necessitated data centers to expand their information-based services.

A data center is a centralized location that houses powerful computing machines and networking components. It is a server-run network that collects, stores, processes, facilitates, shares and accesses a large amount of data. Any government sectors or business entities need it to manage voluminous data.

Typically, data centers are costly to build and operate. But some companies build their own centers because it is important to do so. Other companies that can’t afford to build their own center lease from onshore or offshore service providers. If you own a business organisation that accumulate a large amount of data daily, you need to rent or invest in a data center. It is dramatically important for proper data management and handling.

Data Center Services

Because the functions of centers are vital, there is an undeniable need to have adequate infrastructure and a server room that can accommodate every client’s requests. Part also of the services to be offered is to determine the demands regarding data storage, backup, disaster recovery, data management and networking. By doing so, it can be easy to provide good service and satisfaction.

Data centers are more than just a safehouse for your data. They might as well be considered as an essential extension to help your business in the long run. There are several products and services being offered including but not limited to:

  • Managing power distribution
  • Controlling network access
  • Backup power systems
  • Technical support
  • Handling outsourcing

Choosing the Right Data Center

Choosing an ideal center is important for your company. The first thing to consider is ensured safety and security. If possible, a center must be located in a highly secure location.

Most of the time, data centers are storing highly confidential data that can adversely affect the client’s company once leaked or lost. Therefore, it is necessary to include a proper disaster recovery plan and backup system. Hence, it is really necessary to have an emergency backup program and plan.

You should specify your needs and demands if you want to hire a data center service provider. You should also be investigative regarding some important aspects such as security system, cost-efficiency and geographical location.

In choosing the right center, it is important to check their reputation and reliability. They must be consistent in terms of providing the customers with good quality performance and proactive services. These are important things that must be actualised especially during some unexpected circumstances.

Doing related researches and investigations is vital to get insights on how a particular service provider handles their respective clients. There are core components of a center that you have to know.

Data Center Types

There are different types of centers. They are categorically differentiated based on their respective functions.

First is an “Enterprises Data Center”. It is usually comprised of multiple centers. Each of them has key functions. There are three categories of this type: Intranet, Internet, and Extranet.

Second is a “Multi-Tenant Data Center”. It allows enterprises to outsource their IT infrastructure. It also enables them to connect to various service providers.

The third is a “Managed Service Data Center”. It is usually monitored and handled by a third-party data service provider that provides proactive solutions.

Fourth is a “Colocation Data Center”. It helps reduce downtimes by keeping your hardware run at an optimum level.

The existence of centers is a big help for any company in relation to data handling and information resources management. Nonetheless, there are still flaws that you need to figure out.

Final Insight

Nowadays, businesses must be vigilant about optimization, efficiency, reliability and security. This is the reason why information experts advise business owners to tap data centers for their vital services. They can have, in one way or another, a big impact on your organisational growth and business success. Thereby, it is quite important to choose the best data center for your business.

5 Advantages of Managed WordPress Hosting

Managed WordPress hosting is not cheap, but the cost is worth it considering the advantages that every business will take away from it like speed and security.

A third of the websites in the entire world use WordPress as its content management system. It is the most popular in its niche. It is popular because it is easy to get by: WordPress is easy to download and easy to use. It can also be customized so that the website will be truly your own. That’s why companies love WordPress hosting.

But maintaining a website doesn’t end with having a content management system. You also need a host to make your website visible online. Now there are two kinds of web hosting: shared hosting and managed hosting. One has its own set of advantages and disadvantages.

This article, though, lobbies for managed hosting. While the biggest turn off for managed hosting is the cost, here are five reasons why the amount is worth it:

1. Speed

The most common grumblings surrounding a website is the speed. Some will complain that it will not load easily. As a business owner, you want to keep your audience on your site and keeping them waiting is not the way to do it. They can just easily find another business that offers the same product or service as yours.

A website is definitely a marketing tool. It can sway a customer to buy your product or service or not. If your site is terrible, chances are people will talk about it. Even worse, they will take their complaints to social media—then you are definitely in trouble. The speed also affects search engine rankings. Managed WordPress hosting is faster because your business is the only one being catered to.

2. Uptime

Just like speed, you don’t have to share your server with anyone if you choose to have your website on managed WordPress hosting. This typically means great uptime especially when there are untoward incidents that would cause some interruptions. There are also no reasons for reliability to go down during peak hours since you are not sharing anything with any other entities.

There is also that advantage of unlimited storage space because the online repository is just yours and not shared with other companies or websites.

3. Backup

When things go awry, you are ensured of a great backup system that will load your website within minutes when systems go down. Managed WordPress hosting has a powerful backup service just for you. You paid for it after all. This is one perk that could directly relate to the return of investment. After all, system blackouts could happen anytime. It could happen while your online business is at its peak.

The backup in managed hosting is characterized to have high redundancy strategies with great data recovery.

4. Technical support

You don’t need to queue in order to get technical support to check your website. It is there for you anytime you need it. The technical support team is available 24 hours a day because technical problems don’t keep a schedule. And since you are the only one being managed in this hosting service, then you are going to be served as soon as you need them to. Issues will be resolved so much faster.

5. Security

This is probably the most important thing about managed WordPress hosting. First of all, the fact that you are not sharing the server with any other company is already a ticked box when it comes to security. Since you are paying a premium, security service and policy is also premium.

The hosting service is managed by professionals who take stock on the value of internet security. So there is a defensive system installed rather than just react to possible threats. The firewall, in most cases, is impenetrable against malicious software. But in case it becomes vulnerable to cyber threats, rest assured that your website is in good hands with the cyber security experts on hand.

Managed WordPress hosting: Thinking of the business’s future

You might say that yours is still a small business without the resources to invest in something big. But you have to look at it this way: your business is here for the long run. You have to imagine your business being big and implementing whatever is necessary in order to cope with its potential.

With all the reasons stated above, it is quite clear that managed WordPress hosting is worth it and maybe even necessary.

In an effort to enhance their existing collaboration, the Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) and the Malta Football Association (FA) signed a Data Sharing Agreement on December 5th at the Malta Football Association headquarters in Ta’ Qali, Malta.

The Agreement, which came into force on the same day, allows both parties to share data and exchange information for the prevention and investigation of match-fixing and other corruption incidents in sports.

The importance of the document was emphasized by the MGA Chief Executive Officer, Heathcliff Farrugia, who stated: “This Data Sharing Agreement follows a number of MoUs signed by the MGA with other regulatory bodies throughout 2019, and also ties in perfectly with MGA’s recent establishment of a dedicated Sports Integrity Unit. The Authority is committed to ensure that this agreement is not limited to data sharing, but also sharing of ideas and best practices for the benefit of both entities”.

Bjorn Vassallo, the President of Malta FA also stated that: “The Malta FA has a very good relationship with the MGA as strategic partners in the fight against corruption in sports. The Malta FA was the catalyst behind the Anti-Corruption Task Force in 2015 which eventually led to the introduction of the Prevention of Corruption in Sport Bill and the formation of a national Sports Integrity Unit.

This Data Sharing Agreement represents another important step to further strengthen the Malta FA’s efforts to tackle match-fixing within its regulatory limits at sporting level. It enables the MGA and the Malta FA to share not only crucial data but also expertise”.
